Hans Bellmer
Hans Bellmer is a experimental artist who was most known for his work involving mutilating dolls which looked life-like. Hans Bellmer's work was considered outrageous and even caused his arrest, I feel this really inspired me to go along the same lines as I want the film to be daring and have a real surreal element towards it. Hans Bellmer began to be a highly reputable Surrealist artist in Paris and his worked was printed in the journal Le Minotaure. Hans Bellmer's work was recognised as being rebellious and anti-society. Hans Bellmar inspired both Yasmin and I, Yasmin wants to experiment with other props involving dolls whereas I will be focusing on changing the doll making it look surreal I will also be adding things to the dolls to experiment further. Below are some images of Hans Bellmer's work
Le Minotaure
The Le Minotaure journal was a book filled with surreal artwork by some prestigious artists and little known artists in that era. The journal was published between 1933 and 1939 it published such artists as Hans Bellmar, Pablo Picasso and Victor Brauner.
I also liked these pictures as again it was the idea of experimentation with something that shouldn't be put together. I feel these will be good inspiration as I really want to shock the audience but i also want the props to be a representation of the character.
