Here is a poster for the surrealist film Rubber which is about a tyre which has the ability to murder people through telepathy. With this poster they have made it look like it has been painted/comic book style which looks like Salvador Dali's famous painting Melting Clocks.
The colours used are very exaggerated which again make the shot look surreal. In regards to our film poster I would want to use the same kind of techniques such as exaggerating colours, not taking a still from the actual film and the main layout of the poster.
