Stills from the Film

Below I have uploaded six different images from the film which I'm going to annotate.
This picture shows the character being strong, here the character is in control of the narrative. I feel that this picture is one of the strongest pictures of the character for many different reasons. Here the girl is looking directly at the camera while she is "experimenting" with one of the dolls this is very menacing and comes across as threatening to the audience.

This image again is very strong but for a different reason. Here we don't get to see the characters face which makes the image look menacing and dominating however the small part of her face that we do see comes across as vulnerable. The character is also holding a teddy which we normally associate with a small child, a comfort and innocent. This shows to the audience that the girl although very disturbed reverts back to her younger years where she was just a child but this time it comes across as threatening apposed to innocent.

This image is very striking and quirky, it captures the audience's attention as it something very disturbing. The shot is a high angle shot which shows that the doll is very vulnerable, it has been experimented on which shows the audience what the character is capable of.  I decided to put the shot by itself rather than in the sequence as I felt it would look better if it just appeared then left as it is something which is quite visually shocking.

This is one of the shots used towards the end it is a close up of my face looking through the teapot.  A low angle shot is used this makes the character look threatening, dominate and in control of the narrative. The flash used on the camera makes the characters face look paler and more doll like which again adds to the sinister traits of the character. Although this shot is used towards the end it is the first shot we see of the characters face in full light where we can see her full appearance, this makes it scary as the mystery revolving her identity has now been uncovered, the identity shows that not only does she act disturbed but she looks disturbed too.

This shots shows the character drowning a doll in a cup of "tea". This shot is visually disturbing to the audience and is used to create a response from them, the fact that the character is drowning a doll suggests it is what she would like to do to a human or what she has experienced in her life.

This image has a very strong message "help you", the normal message is Help Me this turns the phrase on its head and suggests someone is in danger. The fact that the girl has written suggests that she is about to put someone in danger.  I wanted to the writing to look wrong and quirky so I started to write some letters the opposite way round, i think that the fact that the paint has leaked downwards also gives a sinister effect as it is reminiscent of blood. Behind the writing you can also see that it is red stained which again suggests that something has been bleeding.
